Achieving Resilience in a Contested Logistic Environment: The AUKUS Context
By Leidos UK Innovations Ltd
The AUKUS tri-lateral partnership was arguably born from a need to re-establish credible deterrence, responding to global risks resulting from unchecked coercive expansion in the diplomatic, economic and security dimensions by state-level antagonists like China. Credible deterrence will require demonstrably effective, responsive, cohesive and adaptive military capability. The ability of AUKUS partners to collectively generate, deploy and resiliently sustain such capability over large geographical areas and as a coherent force, underpins its credibility. Therefore, resilient supply chains and logistic support and sustainment of key deterrent capabilities, across the AUKUS partnership, should be viewed as a crucial and immediate requirement.
